Grants within the framework of the Research Training Group “Regulation of soil organic matter and nutrient turnover in organic agriculture”

| Description: | The University of Kassel has 12 grants for doctoral students available within the framework of the Research Training Group (RTG) ‚ Regulation of soil organic matter and nutrient turnover in organic agriculture (Graduiertenkolleg 1397; funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG). This interdisciplinary research project will focus on the possibilities of regulating soil organic matter and nutrient budgets by soil management, crop rotation and by feeding strategies via the quality of the manure. Other special interest is modeling the coupling aspects of the quality of inputs, the turnover of litter and soil organic matter, the quantity of gaseous and liquid losses. Fieldwork will take place at two locations in Germany and two sites in Oman. The starting date of the project is 1 January 2007.
